The local government system in Balochistan introduced by former military dictator General Pervez Musharaf was dissolved on Friday and all DCOs were made administrators at the concerned districts.
According to details, the formal notification in this regard was issued and all the powers were transferred to DCOs.
It is pertinent to mention here that Balochistan was the first to propose the abolishing of local government system of Pervez Musharraf and summary in this regard had been sent to the federal government and its implementation had started in the other three provinces but Balochistan implemented on Friday.
Sources said that the political parties have differences regarding the appointments of the administrators in place of the local government representatives. The JUI was of view that the administrators should be non-governmental employees while the other parties had disagreed and advised to assign powers to DCOs.
