Federal Minister for Textile Industry and chairman Beijing Olympic Games Hockey Inquiry Committee Rana Farooq Saeed has urged that Secretary Pakistan Hockey Federation Asif Bajwa should resign for the betterment of the hockey adding that he had forced the hockey players of national team to resign.

He expressed these views while addressing “RISJA meet the press” organized by Rawalpindi Islamabad Sports Journalists Association (RISJA) in Sports Complex here on Monday. He said that the key posts of Hockey Federation should be distributed among all the provinces adding that if Government had given him the responsibility of Hockey inquiry then he would accept it.

He said that Hockey was the national game of Pakistan while the poor performance of team had not only hurt the nation but government as well. He said that favoritism in Hockey has affected it badly, while it seems that there was one man show in hockey and Asif Bajwa was taking decisions single handedly.

He said that Asif Bajwa should show morality and resign from his post as Hassan Sardar and Rana Shafiq did in past after the poor performance in World Cup. He said that Government has taken the notice that Asif Bajwa for pressurizing the players to resign from the team.

He said that all the key posts in Pakistan Hockey Federation were held by Punjab Province including President Hockey Federation, Secretary, Finance Secretary and Associate Secretary therefore it should by divided equally among the provinces.
